通过萃取罗勒的花朵、叶片或是整株植物即可得到罗勒精油，罗勒精油的萃取方法通常为蒸馏法，罗勒精油的颜色呈淡黄色至黄绿色。罗勒精油的味道十分清新，带有甜辣的青草香味儿。
杀菌；促进血液循环，适用于病后复健；抗老化，治疗粉刺，有紧实皮肤的作用；提神，改善功能失调，稳定情绪，抗沮丧。但对敏感的肌肤有刺激性。
