Questionnaire analysis of effects of social support on psychological health of retired aged persons

Objective To investigate the relationship between social support and the level of psychological health in elderly person.Methods Randomized questionnaire for the retired officers and some of their family members for a total of 291 persons from the General Logistics Department on 4 quantum tables about SSRS,MLINSH,GDS and SCL-90,and made statistic analysis for the result of the first table compared with the other 3 tables.Results The total points of social support and the total points of happiness degree positive feeling、positive experience were significantly related.The total points of social support had a negative relationship with the points of GDS,also negative with the average points of constrain,sensitive human relationship,depression and positive items in the SCL-90.Conclusions Social support is very import factor for the psychological health of the elderly persons.Raising the social support can increase the happiness degree and improving their depressed tendency in the elderly.
