Objective To explore the relationship of childhood abuse,social support and psychological sub-health among middle school students,in order to improve the mental health status of adolescents. Methods A total of 5 116 adolescents in Bengbu were enrolled with method of stratified cluster random sampling. All the participants were investigated with Multidimensional Subhealth Questionnaire of Adolescents( MSQA),Child Trauma Questionnarire-Short Form( CTQ-SF) and The Scale of Social Support.Results Totally 25.1% of the adolescents reported in status of psychological sub-health. The reporting rate of status of psychological sub-health differed among different gender,study stages and whether the only child( P<0.01). The students with psychological sub-health had higher score of childhood abuse and lower score of social support than that of in the students with no psychological sub-health( P<0.01). Logistic regression analysis showed that gender,childhood abuse,social support and subjective support were influential factors to psychological sub-health( P<0.01). The partial mediating effect of social support and subjective support on the relations between childhood abuse and psychological sub-health was significant( 31.16%,25.26%). Conclusion Both childhood abuse and social support are the influential factors to psychological sub-health among middle school students. For students who experienced childhood abuse,improving and enhancing their level of social support can reduce the incidence of psychological subhealth.
