Do Buddha disciples have to be vegetarian?

Buddhists may have some doubts about vegetarian diets, including some milk and eggs. In fact, the first thing we who study Buddhism is to open up our wisdom, and then we have to achieve our compassion, and finally we have compassion and wisdom and achieve the Buddha's path.

In fact, in the time of the Buddha, there was no saying that this diet and regulations must be vegetarian. Primitive Buddhists were all dervishes. In the dietary life of the dervishes, they cannot choose the object of the dervish, nor can they choose the so-called clean or unclean, sacred or unsacred, all of them are equal and have a wide range of good karma.

To this day, Theravada Buddhism in Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, etc., they still retain the ancient customs of the time, and they also accept what the donor offers, and there is no room for choice and pickiness, as long as it is not specially killed for the dervarian, even if it is fish and meat and other food. This is why Southern Buddhism does not stipulate that a vegetarian diet is mandatory.

In fact, the vegetarian diet is carried out from the perspective of compassion not to harm us and not to eat the flesh of all living beings.

Can Buddha disciples eat meat dishes?

Meat dishes, such as garlic, onions, onions, leeks, including small garlic, etc., are easy to anger and hatred when eaten raw, and cooked food can help lust.

In the precepts, it is clearly stipulated that eating meat dishes with a particularly bad breath will not only affect our own cultivation, but also disturb others, so it is best not to eat these meat dishes before chanting. In order not to cause the ghosts and gods who listen to the scriptures to have this hatred. Fishy is actually meat, so there are two kinds of meat, fishy. But like chili, pepper, spice, star anise, toon, fennel, cinnamon, etc., these are spices, and they do not belong to meat dishes, so everyone must understand.

Why can't Buddha disciples drink alcohol?

Some people will also ask that this wine is made of rice and vegetarian, so why can't you eat it? Because our Buddhism attaches great importance to wisdom, if we drink too much, it is easy to get confused, and after drinking, it is easy to cause ourselves to be drowsy, unable to stay awake, which is not conducive to cultivation. In particular, if we want to achieve the goal of meditation, we must also abstain from alcohol. Therefore, the biggest harm of alcohol is actually the obstacle to wisdom. We want to be a person who understands, but you just become a foolish person, and this does not correspond to the Tao, so everyone should understand this.

But we can't do it in many places at the beginning, so we can take the vows one by one, and also give everyone a little time to grow, not that we have to do it all at once.

Can Buddha disciples eat eggs?

There is also this problem of eating eggs, which is also fishy, and it still has that taste, so if you are a vegetarian and pure, it is best not to eat it. But nowadays, the eggs produced in many chicken farms are asexual, and what they buy in the consumer market is inanimate, but it is clear that they are not plants, and if they eat asexual eggs from the standpoint of killing, it is not a transgression and it does not affect compassion.

Can Buddha disciples eat dairy products?

And then there's the dairy product, which is not meat or fishy. Because cattle and sheep eat grass and grains, and the dairy products produced do not contain fishy smell, dairy products are neither killed nor fed, and are raised by people to control the production of milk, which will not affect its growth and development, so in the time of the Buddha, it was also commonly drunk cow's milk, and the dairy products were divided. The five kinds of dairy products, such as milk, cheese, raw crisp, cooked crisp, and daigo, are daily foods, and in fact, they are also essential nutrients for our human body, so they are not included in the precepts.

It is good for Buddhist disciples to be vegetarian

If we Buddhist disciples can eat vegetarianism, it will definitely be of great help to our cultivation and our body, so there is no need to suspect that we will be malnourished and not good for our health. Because many predecessors have been practicing this aspect early, and the facts have verified that vegetarian people are healthier than those who eat meat, and their minds are clearer, and their blood and large intestine are clean.

Therefore, we must firmly believe in this Dharma and not doubt it. If you have doubts, hesitates, and may be entangled in your heart, this itself is not good for the body, not that vegetarianism brings bad to our body, so we must be clear about these concepts.
